Mobile Device Security Alliance Launched
From cars, to televisions, to medical equipment, to airplanes and many more devices all use mobile operating systems and run applications as stand alone or as part of a network. Many of these devices will have the ability to update or patch their own operating system and applications, however there are many new devices which don't have the built in ability to update or patch. There is a vast number of manufacturers which create, adapt and build according to no standards to ineffective standards to standards that are proprietory. The Alliance will in part, attempt to set out some industry accepted guidance which is easy to follow for those creating operating systems as well as those writing applications.
Supporting this initiative, is as important as the Conference this is being launched at as well as the other major event that relates to this topic - the International Secure System Development Conference. It is vital that as security professionals we all promote security very early in the design phases of any development, be it an operating system or an application.
